About

MaltaPoker.info is the only magazine entirely dedicated to poker in Malta.

Why?

Poker has started in Malta in 2007 and, since then, it has kept on growing. The island is now a premium poker destination in Europe and there are some good reasons for that:

Malta is a strong touristic destination in Europe, with a unique historic heritage, sunny beaches and a very active nightlife.
Malta has a strong gambling culture, with four established casinos, many bingo halls or slot machines outlets, and a liberal stance on offshore gambling licenses. More than 200 gambling companies, including some of the biggest in Europe, are based in Malta.
Conveniently located at the center of Europe, less than 2 hours away from almost any big European capitals, Malta is now included in several major professional poker Tours, notably European Masters of Poker (EMOP) and EuroCity Poker Tour (ECPT).

For all these reasons, we strongly believe that Malta and the poker game have a bright future altogether. MaltaPoker.info is the one-stop meeting point for everything poker in Malta.

Who?

MaltaPoker.info was created by two poker players who have been living in Malta for many years, Ruben Velden and Cyril Fievet.
Ruben, a Dutch expert on gambling and casino, has been involved in the casino industry for two decades, with a specialty in live table games protection. After more than six years in the poker industry, both live and online, he came to Malta as an online casino and poker manager.
Cyril, a French journalist and entrepreneur, was an Internet pionneer in France when he started to create information websites in 1995. After a decade of Web publishing, 5 published books and contributions to more than 30 leading magazines and newspapers, he has been deeply involved in the poker industry for three years. He was Editor-in-chief of Card Player France for about two years and he is now a freelance poker writer.
