Dragonara Casino

Casino History
The Dragonara Casino, is located in San Julians, within close distance of the entertainment area where many restaurants, nightclubs and bars can be found.
The casino is part of Groupe Lucien Barrière, one of the largest casino operators in the world.
It was originally built as a villa with a large central courtyard in 1870 at the end of a small peninsula. The villa has been transformed into a casino in 1964 and renovated in 1999. That’s when Groupe Lucien Barrière came in.
The large courtyard was covered and turned into a large playroom, where most of the gambling tables and a part of the slot machines are located.
On the side, there is a separate room with gaming tables and slot machines, where smoking is allowed.
Games
The casino offers three rooms: the main room, a smoking area and, of course a poker room. Dragonara Casino has about 186 slot machines with various denominations starting from 1 cent to 25 cents. There is a 12-seater automatic roulette, multi roulette, a 12-seater horse racing machine and progressives (one with 15 machines linked together and the other with 5 machines).
There are 8 live table games: 5 roulette tables, 2 blackjack tables, 2 Caribbean stud poker tables and 2 super Texas poker tables. There is a smoking area where you can play and smoke at the same time. This room has two roulette tables, a black jack and a super Texas Table.
What used to be the private area (high stakes) has become The Dragonara Poker Room.
