After about 20 hours of poker, the Main Event of the MPC ended last night with the victory of Keith Boniface over a very international final table.
Out of the 65 players who entered the €1,100 poker tournament, 24 had made it to Day 2, which started Sunday afternoon. The 10-players final table was set just before the dinner break and formed quite a cosmopolitan field, with 7 different countries represented.

British Boniface took it down
Two of the four women who played the tournament made it to the final table and Jorryt van Hoof, although massive chip leader at the beginning of the finale, had a hard time fighting them. Viktoriya Taranova took a large portion of his stack after calling a bluff and when Van Hoof later tried to steal Jackie Cachia, he ran into her pocket aces. Viktoria, after winning four coin flips in a row and busted three players, has then about half the chips of the tournament, and Keith Boniface was the only one able to compete.
As soon as the final heads-up was set, the two players – a British citizen living in Malta and a Russian lady – agreed on a deal to split the money and fight for the title. Shortly after, Keith Boniface was crowned winner of the first edition of the Mediterranean Poker Cup Malta.
